The GoLook camera system combines seven (7) 1080p HD video cameras capturing 30fps into a synchronized, calibrated photogrammetric video imaging system. GoLook has a full 360 degree horizontal FOV. A simple GPS system is built-in such that streetview data can be generated directly without any additional equipment. In addition it accurately time stamps all imagery making it possible to boresight with a more accurate trajectory solution (such as when using ScanLook).

GoLook has a simple on/off key fob making operation very simple. Each camera has an LED associated with it to provide status information. The data is stored on each camera's micro–SD card providing 10.5 hours of video per camera. It is powered by a small external battery pack. A video viewer is included. Additional software is also available to boresight the camera for the mission to produce panoramic or still images and to colorize point cloud data.

As a standalone unit, GoLook provides a very quick, efficient means of rapidly capturing the visible environment. Combined with ScanLook and the appropriate INS, GoLook delivers an unprecedented depth of image information at an affordable price.

In addition to providing all of the above, work is in place to utilize the imagery to a fuller extent using a full suite of photogrammetric tools for direct 3D measurement from the imagery alone.

GoLook is a capture only device. All processing is performed on a local computer.

Below is our GoLook camera on YouTube 360. If you play this on your computer use a high res display. You'll see you can change the view direction while playing or paused. If you play it on your phone you can move the phone to control the view direction. If you use the Google CardBoard then it is really cool.

Is imagery important? Is Google, GoogleEarth, or GoogleMaps important? Yes. Check out this article on the Google backpack camera. Then turn your attention once again to GoLook. The size difference is huge (especially if it is strapped to your back). GoLook is only six inches in diameter, weighs just a few pounds, and is extremely durable. It can store 10.5 hours of HD 1080p30fps imagery on all seven cameras. It is a game changer in imaging.

**Click here to download an example KMZ file. It contains two placemarks: One showing lens distorted imagery, and one undistorted. The images are embedded directly into the KML file from the ScanLook suite as base64 encoded data (saved as KMZ for compression sake).
